
Holly Wallace is a freelance travel writer and photographer who has been based in Queenstown in the Southern Alps of New Zealand for the past seven years. Living in a natural playground, Holly specialises in adventure travel. She's jumped out of planes at 15,000 feet, rafted down remote glacial rivers and climbed mountains, all with a camera in her backpack and pen at the ready. She's also travelled extensively and has had her travel articles published in New Zealand magazines such as NZ Life and Leisure, On Holiday, North and South and Fitness Life. Paul Whitfield wrote the guide on Alaska, a place he is familiar with from his work as author of the Rough Guide to Alaska. When not researching and taking photos for other Rough Guides he hangs out in New Zealand indulging his passion for rock climbing, mountain biking and kayaking.
Christian Williams has been a freelance writer since 1997 and has written or co-written 13 travel guides including the Rough Guides to Canada, Berlin, Tenerife, Colorado and Skiing and Snowboarding. Between projects he has also written articles for UK newspapers and magazines such as the Daily Telegraph as well as providing content to various travel websites. His main areas of expertise are Germany, the Canary Islands, the USA and Canada, although he has also written about China and Tanzania. Christian is also involved in other parts of the travel industry, particularly managing a German travel website. Christian grew up in Germany, but got his passion for travel in the UK while studying geography at Cambridge University. He wrote So Much World's guides to Alberta, China, Tanzania, Florida and the US Rockies.
Michael Kohn has co-authored Lonely Planet travel guides to Israel & the Palestinian Territories, Tibet and Central Asia, among other places, and contributes to the BBC World Service and Associated Press. Graham Simmons is a freelance travel writer/photographer, based in Byron Bay, NSW. He took
up travel writing in an attempt to get away from himself. It didn't work. But by then he was hooked. His incoherent scribblings are now grudgingly accepted by a number of international publications, inlcuding the inflights of some of the world's dodgiest airlines. He is a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers and a founding member of Global Travel Writers' Syndicate. Dan MacCarthy is an Irish journalist living in Cork, Ireland. He has lived in Spain, England and Holland and has worked as an English teacher, a librarian, an EU researcher, a sound archivist, a builder's labourer, a fisherman and a soldier in between bouts of laziness and study. Excepting the odd camping holiday in France, Andy Price spent his early life grounded in the British Isles. The urge to shed his national boundaries led to a stint in Thailand in his mid-twenties where his nascent love of travel flourished. His Nikon F4 camera accompanies him wherever he goes.
