Chill out in Barbados in a beachside apartment

Barbados is an ideal destination for a relaxing, sun-soaked vacation.

It is well known for fabulous weather, friendly people and beautiful beaches. Whether you want to spend your vacation lounging in the sand, exploring the island, or something in between, you will find what you want in Barbados.

The island is located in the eastern part of the Caribbean and due to the cooling trade winds, the temperature never gets uncomfortably hot.

Barbados' water is warm and brilliant blue with coral reefs and colorful marine life. Water sports are very popular and visitors have abundant opportunities for sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving and swimming.

Barbados' interior boasts beautiful forested areas that are ideal for hiking. There is a large wildlife refuge where you can see native birds and animals in their natural habitat and the island has a number of limestone caves that visitors can explore.

Barbados still reflects much of its heritage as a British colony but it also shows off its flamboyant African culture. English is the main language, but the local dialect reflects many African and Caribbean influences.

Accommodation in Barbados ranges from opulent resorts to beach chalets. Most of the high-end resorts, such as Colony Club, Tamarind Cove and Crystal Cove, are located on the western side of the island.

US dollars are accepted in most places, but it is better to use the local currency (the Barbadian dollar) to avoid confusion in quick conversions.

Barbados' international gateway is Sir Grantley Adams International Airport.
