Fog-shrouded Saint John is New Brunswick's largest city and Canada's oldest. It was founded in 1785 by loyalists fleeing the American Revolution.

A working port city, Saint John is located at the mouth of the Saint John River.

Saint John's restored historic centre is a joy to walk around and there are plenty of culinary temptations on offer at the Old City Market.

The reversing falls - where ferocious rapids form as the Saint John River flows into the incoming tides of the Bay of Fundy - is Saint John's most impressive site. The phenomenon can be viewed from a bridge over the falls and summer thrill-seekers can experience the rapids up close by taking a jet boat ride.
