Coffee tasting in Colombia

You'll be on a permanent caffeine jag in Columbia

Caffeine junkies need not worry about getting their fix anywhere in Colombia.

The coffee bean is a national symbol and with a little imagination it's possible to go on a coffee tour of the country.

First stop is one of the Juan Valdéz coffee shops in Bogotá; along with a cup 'o joe you can pick up some totally kitsch Juan Valdez key chains, hats or T-shirts.

From Bogotá, head west to the coffee growing area set around Pereira, Manizales and Armenia. From these three towns you can explore coffee plantations and meet the growers.

For the ultimate coffee experience, visit the Parque Nacional del Café, an actual theme park dedicated to the ubiquitous bean. It's about 15km west of Armenia.
