What to do in Czech Republic

Listen to music

If you’re a music lover, then you’ll be in heaven in the Czech Republic.

For contemporary Czech and international music, it’s hard to go past the famous, atmospheric Lucerna Bar where you can drink and dance the night away. If you love classical music, the beautiful churches of Prague (such as St Giles Church on Husova Street, where Dvorak was confirmed) regularly hold concerts.

Drink beer

The Czech Republic has arguably the best beer in the world and Czechs claim to have the world’s highest per-capita annual consumption.

It is the original home of Pilsener (invented in Plzen) and Budweiser (invented in Ceske Budejovice).

Read books

Read books? Why go all the way to another country to read books?

If you’re a book lover, you’ll understand why. There’s nothing quite like reading a novel set in the place you’re visiting. Sitting in a gorgeous Art Nouveau cafe reading a book slows time right down and makes you feel almost like a local – or at least a leisured expat.
