Moncton Travel Guide - All About Moncton, Canada

Watching the tide roll in

Lying inland from New Brunswick's Acadian Coast, Moncton has a large French-speaking population.

Certainly the city's oddest attraction is Magnetic Hill where an optical illusion makes it possible for cars to coast uphill.

Moncton's other main tourist draw is Tidal Bore Park at the end of Main Street, where nature puts on a twice daily spectacle of raising the water level by up to 6m in a matter of minutes. This phenomenon is caused by the tides of the Petitcodiac River which is related to the massive tides of the spectacular Bay of Fundy, which lies south of Moncton.

The Greater Moncton International Airport in Moncton is the main gateway to New Brunswick.
