Though you may end up with blisters in the most unimaginable places, a camel trek through the deserts of Rajasthan provides an unbeatable perspective on desert life. The bleak landscape is surprisingly full of life and remote villages overflow with hospitality.

Try to spend at least one night in the desert to catch the amazing night sky and to let the serenity of the desert envelop you. Jaisalmer is one of the best and most popular places to begin your trek but Bikaner is also an excellent starting-point and is far less hassle than tout-ridden Jaisalmer.
