Saint Kitts & Nevis Travel Guide - All About Saint Kitts & Nevis

Laid-back St Kitts & Nevis are among the quietest islands in the Caribbean

The two islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis - also known as St Christopher - lie in the Caribbean Sea in the northern part of the Leeward Islands.

St Kitts is the largest of the two islands with an area of 68 square miles and is separated from the coconut palm-fringed beaches of Nevis by a two-mile wide channel.

The laid-back islands are an area of outstanding natural beauty and are still relatively undiscovered by tourists. With a population of less than 40,000, St Kitts & Nevis are sparsely populated and agriculture remains the backbone of the economy.

The islands are covered in lush tropical vegetation, filled with exotic monkeys and bright flowers. St Kitts' mountainous interior is dominated by the spectacular peak of Mount Liamuiga, a dormant volcano smothered in tropical forest.

St Kitts & Nevis are blessed with are many lovely bays and beaches and enjoy a warm, sunny climate. Activities here include hiking, golfing, fishing and boating; snorkeling and diving are also popular around the many reefs and wrecks surrounding the island.

English is the official language.
