Hot air ballooning gives you a bird's eye view during the migration season

The most extraordinary way to experience and safely be at the mercy of nature is to float over Tanzania's savannah in a hot air balloon.

The unique perspective gives a much truer and mind-blowing sense of the huge expanses of bush.

The experience is pretty much unmissable during the migration season (usually June and July) when you can watch immense herds lumber and snake across the plains like a single giant organism.

At other times, game viewing from these heights is fairly limited, but the experience - gathering at dawn to excited anticipation as the balloon fills and finishing the whole thing off in style with a champagne breakfast - is well-worth it if you can afford the fees of around USD$400 per head.
